MEET Erica
Dr. Erica Ball is a classically trained pianist, violinist, and composer with an extensive career as a music educator. She received her PhD in music composition from the University of Pennsylvania, and her undergraduate degree in music from Bard College.
In addition to her work as a professional composer and instrumentalist, Dr. Ball maintains a full music studio. Students range from children beginning their journeys with music, to accomplished high school students auditioning for conservatories, as well as adults continuing their love of playing. All instrumental students in Dr. Ball’s studio receive a solid foundation in the techniques of the instrument, as well as a holistic music education that combines improvisation and creative practice with the fundamentals of music theory.
Dr. Ball is in regular demand as an adjunct music theory and composition professor, and has most recently taught at the Wells School of Music at West Chester University and the University of Pennsylvania.
